Z- The Downtown & Old Town GoCar Tour

This tour is for anybody who wants to see how San Diego has evolved from its western roots into the Modern international vacation spot that it is today. You will start in historic Little Italy that was home to the Italian community and see how it evolved into the modern business and artistic community it is today. Make your past the ships in the bay that explored the new world, or patrolled the waters in time of war, into the Gaslamp Quarter which was once San Diego’s red-light district and see how it got re-imagined into the social scene it is today. As you leave modern San Diego you will begin your tip into history as you make your way through beautiful Mission Hills, you will pass many houses and businesses 50 years old and some much older. Your jump into history will take you past Historic Fort Stockton, into Presidio Park where the old Spanish Mission used to stand, into Old Town San Diego where you can see how San Diego looked in the old west with its Spanish and American residents forming a thriving community. This tour is for anyone who wants to see how San Diego has changed over the years, but still stayed true its Military roots

GoCar empowers you to create your own experience, therefore actual time to complete the route and its options may vary. The listed time on the tour route is an average based on normal traffic conditions. Other factors to consider when estimating travel time are the number of options taken, the number of stops made, and the amount of time spent visiting landmarks. Major construction projects and special events may create street closures and detours. Commute traffic in the afternoons can be heavy on certain parts of the tour. We do our best to inform you at the time of rental of street and traffic issues associated with the tour routes so you can make informed decisions while out on tour. Additional time is billed in 1-minute increments. You may visit all or some of the tour’s highlights and customize your own adventure.

• DURATION:
  Approx. 2 hour total. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your departure and complete your waivers via electronically before you arrive. Renters are free to extend the length of their tour on the day of rental. Additional rental time will be charged in 15-minute increments.
